The meetings for Mini-Shengen, in which Albania is also participating, are continuing to be rejected by political subjects in the country and Albania.
The initiative for Mini-Shengen is said to isolate Kosovo, and if conflicts are realised in the Balkans.
After the Tirana summit, Kosovo divides Albania are transparent.
Even Pristina University professor Milazim Krasniqi has told the newspaper that this initiative empowers Serbia and weakens Kosovo.
According to him, Prime Minister Edi Rama's actions are treason against Kosovo. The “The actions of Albania's prime minister are treason against Kosovo, because once an alliance and a empowerment between Kosovo and Albania would be needed and then the search for partnership with Serbia and other participants. There can be no regional initiatives without resolving the Kosovo report's problem with Serbia and with Bosnia and Herzegovina”.
Krasniqi has said such initiatives fail because their goal is not to integrate the entire Balkans, but to empower Serbia and that if it continues this way, then conflicted situations could arise.
This could debalanise the situation in the Balkans and provoke even trends for conflict. The best solution is for the entire region to focus on the European integration process. For Serbia and Kosovo to reach a comprehensive agreement that would accept the reality that exists, Kosovo as an independent state. After accession took place, then regional initiatives would have meaning and then would be put into service to speed up the European integration process”, he stressed.
Arton Demhay, from the organisation “Arise”, has told “Zerin” that Kosovo will not be harmed unless it participates in the meetings for Mini-Shengin. He has also said that such an initiative, without including the entire Balkans, may not be achieved.
Such an initiative, without including the entire Balkans, I don't think it can be successful and accessible. So I don't believe there may be any damage to Kosovo in foreign policy just because it is not participating in these meetings. Neither Bosnia and Herzegovina is participating in these meetings, so this has remained an isolated initiative between Serbia, Montenegro, Macedonia and Albania, but I still don't believe something concrete will happen in this direction”, he added.
