Germany adopts stricter weapons control laws

That includes implementing a changed European fire directive in German law in order to make it more difficult for criminals and terrorists to take their hands with weapons.
Another aspect of the law is a new regulation that will make all those who possess weapons in Germany controlled every five years, and they will have to justify why they need a weapon in the first place.
Justice Minister Christine Lambrecht said “I don't want to wait until the weapons enter the hands of right-wing extremists”.
However, as opposition politicians have noted, many similar regulations already exist and have not always been successful.
