Because of the state of emergency created by the November 26th violent earthquake, several educational institutions were also affected.
One of them is the Faculty of Construction Engineering at the Polytechnic University of Tirana, where in its 5th floors, the situation is the same, dangerous for students of this faculty. Even audiences are not ready to start the learning process. As you see from the images the operator Ermal Gjiddee offers, the walls are cracked and the cracks are visible.
So the learning process here will begin on January 6th, while in other schools at the Polytechnic University of Tirana teaching begins on December 16th.
The damage at the Faculty of Engineering was caused by the September earthquake, from which a repair contract was signed on October 23rd worth about $3 million. But the reconstruction did not last a month, since the building returned to its former state, where it was deemed dangerous to start teaching.
The lesson was interrupted throughout December and the University of Medicine in Tirana, as a result of the environmental plight of the facility. Rector Arben Gjata decided to resume the teaching process on January 6th. While, we remember that students at the University of Tirana have started teaching on December 10th, as well as discussing when underdeveloped hours will be replaced.
