In an interview for Radio Kosovo, the Republic for Community, Ambassador Costett said the Serbian List is a political reality in Kosovo and that the rights of all communities should be respected.
The American ambassador reiterated the position that Kosovo and Serbia should return to the negotiating table, because with normalisation of bilateral relations, the two countries will attract more investment from abroad. Kostett has added that the US will review any agreement between Kosovo and Serbia, including the issue of adjusting territory, but only to the extent when it has support from both sides.
Ambassador Costet also spoke of the importance of Specialised Chambers in The Hague, as well as the US role in dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia.
The Special Court plays an important role, not only in processing justice to individuals, but also in testifying that Kosovo as a nation, is not afraid to look into the past. It is an important institution and I think it will continue to prove its value in the coming months”, Costnet said.
