Rescue teams are fighting more than 100 fires, which have spread around the time Australia has faced the two hottest days in history.
Two firefighters died in a traffic accident Thursday as they set off to put out a large fire near Sydney.
Morrison has said he will return early from the holiday, since his absence this week has sparked criticism and protests.
I feel deep regret over any offense caused by any Australian affected by terrible fires, going on vacation with my family at this time”, he said Friday.
As a result of the September fire crisis, eight people have died in Australia and more than 700 homes have been destroyed.
Temperatures in some countries in Australia have reached over 45 degrees Celsius this week.
The highest temperature during December is recorded Friday in Victoria, since in the town of Hopetoun heat has registered 47.4 degrees Celsius.
