Aida Shyef Al-Kadi appeared along with her lawyers at the headquarters of the American-Islamic Relations Council in Minneapolis to announce this court ruling.
Al-Kadi, 57, said her treatment at the Ramsey region prison in August 2013 was one of the most devastating and damaging experiences in her life.
I knew I didn't want any other Muslim woman to experience what I experienced”, she said.
A judge had released a warrant for the arrest of this woman after she had not been brought to court because of a traffic violation at the time she was sending her daughter to the hospital.
In the legal complaint, she complained that local authorities have violated her constitutional rights and discriminated against her because of her religious faith.
Mrs. Al-Qadi was born and raised in Ohio, United States, but was placed in Minnesota in 2005 so that her daughter could have access to special medical treatment, writes the “The Guardian”.
