Albanians increased tourism spending abroad by 10.3%

The influx of foreign tourists to our country has significantly increased in Albania, but the number of Albanians spending on tourism or travel abroad does not fall behind. According to data published by the Bank of Albania, more than 1.2 billion euros were spent on Albanian tourism and travel abroad during the January period. [...]

According to data released by the Bank of Albania, over 1.2 billion euros were spent on Albanian tourism and travel abroad during the January period September 2019.

The data shows that compared to the same period last year, expenditures on tourism abroad have increased by 10.3% or 115m euros more.

The figures Albanians spend on holidays abroad have come to a steady increase year-on-year.

Greece is one of the main destination countries where Albanians travel most on vacation. But parallelly other favourite countries are Turkey, Italy, but other European Union states.

Despite the rapid growth of the figure that Albanians spend on travel abroad, the balance of tourism continues to remain positive, as foreign vacationers bring the economy more than Albanians spend abroad.

According to the Bank of Albania for the first nine months of this year, the Albanian economy benefited 1 billion of 636m euros from tourism or 412m euros more than the expenses of Albanians abroad. /Attish
