Known as Chevrotain or my deer, it was last seen in 1990, according to a study published today in the journal Nature Ecology and Evolution.
The type Tragulus Vercolor, described for the first time in 1910 based on some of the animals found near Nha Trang, about 450 kilometers north-north of Ho Chi Minh.
Otherwise, many animals are on the verge of extinction because of the loss of habitat or change in environments.
