The millionaire publicist's name, Veton Surroi, recently cited for the post of foreign affairs minister in the next government, which is expected to form the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) and the Vetevendosje (LVV), writes Periscopi. But in the LDK they say Surroi's involvement in the future government cabinet has never been discussed.
LDK chief Agim Veliu in a conversation for Periscope has denied that during talks between the partners of the future ruling coalition, the name of Surroi has been mentioned as the option for Kosovo's top diplomat.
I have no comment on this matter, this issue is not about LDK\x1>, Veliu said of Periscope.
Surroi's involvement in Kosovo's future government, however, has raised reactions to influential figures in the country.
Adriatic journalist Kelmendi thinks his chief is ideal for the post of foreign minister.
“In the situation in which Kosovo and the Albanians are currently most worthy and most called for the post of foreign minister that Veton Surroi does not have”, Kelmendi wrote on Facebook.
But unlike Kelmendi, the opinionist thinks, simultaneously former journalist Kimete Berisha.
According to Berisha, if Albin Kurti (which is expected to be Kosovo's next prime minister) is nominated to any position of Veton Surroi, he risks losing his sympathy for the electorate.
And you know that you lose your sympathy, you lower yourself, you prove that you have concrete ideas other than abstract and that you've read only philosophy and futility”, Berisha wrote on Facebook.
But the protagonist himself, on a television show, has denied being nominated for chief of Kosovo diplomacy in the future government.
Surroi has called this news a media speculation, while wondering if he would accept such an offer, he said I am not part of the speculation.
The LDK and VV have concluded meetings between working groups for harmonisation of the co-government programme.
According to LVV chairman Albin Kurti, both parties have agreed for 80 per cent of the programme. While the issue of division of positions will pass to the level of leaders of these two parties, Albin Kurti and Isa Mustafafa.
Until then, it remains to be seen who will assume the post of foreign affairs minister and other positions. /Periscopi/
