US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said the status of the West Coast should be negotiated by Israel and Palestinians.
The settlements are communities founded by Israel on land conquered during the 1967 Middle East war.
They have long been the source of disagreements between Israel and the Palestinians, but also Israel and the international community.
