United States President Donald Trump has launched steps to officially remove his country from the Paris Climan Agreement, making the US the only state in the world that will not be part of this pact.
The letter sent by the U.S. government to withdraw from this agreement represents the launch of a year-long escape process from the important international pact reached at the United Nations climate change conference in Paris in 2015.
On the other hand, French President Emmanuel Macron's office announced that the head of state would sign a pact with his Chinese counterpart, Xi Jinping, for climate change and their irreversible effect.
A president's official Macron expressed regret at the United States' decision to leave the Paris Agreement, saying: “We regret this and that only makes French-Chinese co-operation more necessary for climate and biodiversity”.
The news of the United States' departure from this deal was issued by US Secretary of State Mike Pomeo, who said this pact would be an unfair economic burden to American workers, businesses and taxpayers and that the US has already reduced the amount of gases that cause global warming.
According to the Paris Agreement, the United States pledged that by 2025 they would reduce gas pollution to at least 26 percent compared to 2005 level, writes the Guardian”.
