Facebook Director General Mark Zuckerberg had dined in the White House with US President Donald Trump and technology investor billionaire Peter Thiel at the White House last month, according to a report by NBC News.
Thiel, who was one of the oldest Facebook supporters, is one of the seven members of the company's board of directors.
Facebook confirmed the news about NBC News Wednesday night, saying Zuckerberg was invited by Trump to dine at the White House.
“Sic is normal for an executive director of a large American company, Mark accepted an invitation to dine with the First President and Lady at the White House”, said a Facebook spokesperson, Perskopi attended.
But it remains unclear why Zuckerberg and Thiel met with the president, what was discussed at that dinner, and why this meeting was not made public.
This is the second time Facebook CEO has met Trump in secret.
Zuckerberg had dined with the president and other senators in late September on a surprise Washington DC visit.
