So stated White House National Security Adviser Robert O'Brien for American CBS television today.
“Turkey will feel the consequences of those sanctions,” said O'Brien, adding that a possible proposal of sanctions against Turkey in line with the US Law for opposing American opponents through the path of sanctions would receive the great support of Congress.
O'Brien's remarks came ahead of Turkish President Recep Tayip Erdogan's visit to Washington on Wednesday, where he will discuss with US President Donald Trump on a number of issues that are disturbing the relations of two NATO allies.
The key topic of discussion on the two countries' relations is the Turkish purchase of Russian S-400 systems, which the US claims is not in line with F-35 fighter aircraft, which Ankara also wants in its fleet and has already been ordered for purchase by the American company Loocheed Martin).
