Albania's Prime Minister, Edi Rama, has declared that Kosovo's incoming prime minister, Albin Kurti, cannot remove the border between Kosovo and Albania without an agreement with other states.
Rama has stressed that Kurti cannot remove the border if Serbia is not part of this process, as it could start a new war with Serbia.
He's saying without a deal with all the other countries it would be crazy.
“Who the US, the European Union or Cuba will give consent to the removal of the border without agreement with all others would be nothing but foolish. The more we've seen it, not removing it, but saying it's going to be removed, we've lit all the red lamps and the alarm is all up there”, Rama told Top-Channel.
Kosovo and Albania now aim to remove the border between the two countries in order to ease people's transition procedures and goods, but this has not yet been experienced.
Citizens of Kosovo and those of Albania continue to undergo controls at border points connecting these two states. The governments of the two countries have also signed many agreements in order to eliminate barriers between the two states, but still lack a free movement agreement.
