More radical protests expected against decision to boost car insurance

For the second day, dozens of citizens have gathered in front of the Kosovo Central Bank to protest the decision to boost car insurance. With hand slippers “we have increased insurance and write-down of salaries”, “1 salary = car security”, “Your thanks are not due to citizens”, “The BQK has given enough credit to Kosovo”, was asked to abolish the CEC decision, as well as the next prime minister, Albin Kurti, to form an investigative commission to investigate this decision.
Group representative “SpedofmaniaKs”, Arlind Ramadani, said the BEC's decision is scandalous and that it escalates even more the economic situation in Kosovo.
“We consider that the BEC's decision is a scandalous and unacceptable decision, given that Kosovo is the poorest state in Europe, with the lowest economy and the highest standard of living in the region. But at the lowest pay rate in Europe and beyond. Such a decision to raise vehicle insurance to 26 per cent but only escalates even more the economic situation of our citizens. We consider that BEC officials for material purposes of interest groups have made such a decision. Neither the state budget nor the citizen's budget are assisted in this decision. But only specific interest groups”, he said.
Rejecting the CEC's decision, Ramadani said they have interferred various security companies.
Our request is that such a decision to raise insurance for vehicles for 26 per cent be abolished and the decision that was earlier until the latter came. Our request is also to incoming Prime Minister Albin Kurti, so that after the government's formation, it will establish an investigative commission to look at the entire procedure that has been conducted under the issue. As we believe that groups and interests have interferred us to the BQC” framework, he said.
Ramadani also stressed that the upcoming protests would be more radical if this decision is not withdrawn.
Otherwise, during yesterday's day, she protested to challenge that decision.
Only after citizens' response has the incumbent prime minister, Ramush Haradinaj, asked the BEC for reasons for his decision.
