12m euros of assets were seized by a 54-year-old from Fieri, arrested in Greece for cocaine trafficking.
The prosecution, in co-operation with the police, has placed Arjan Chanaj's active and real estate under sequential control, allegedly benefiting from illegal drug trafficking activity.
Chanaj was arrested in June 2017 along with a Greek citizen after being detained in the neighbouring state with 20kg of cocaine, worth approximately 800,000 euros.
Thanks to the investigation, these people were involved in importing cocaine from Latin American countries. The processing was allegedly done in Albania and Kosovo, and then drugs were distributed in the rich areas of Athens, or on the islands of Greece, such as Santorini.
Chanaj was arrested along with Greek Sakis Karaxunis. After that, the prosecution in co-operation with the criminal police in the town of Fieri launched investigations into Chanaj's assets.
Among the assets seized are 3 construction and gas trading companies in Fier, Durres, Tirana, Korca, etc., 1 three-way hotel in Fier, 2 three-story villas, apartments, 873 square metres of land in Tirana, Durres and Fier and several garages.
Police stress that Chanaj has been exercising the activity of selling narcotics from our country to Turkey.
