“Greece can contribute to mutual understanding between China and the EU”, he added.
The relations between Greece and China have improved since Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis's recent visit to Shanghai, but have gained a strategic nature since 2006”, Pavlopoulos stressed.
Referring to China-based conglomerate”Cosco”, the main shareholder in the Piraeus Portal Authority and container terminal, Pavlopoulos stressed that the project lies for a mutually useful relationship between the two countries.
“Greece has become a transport centre for products, while China has gained access to Balkan markets and the European Union”, he said.

Voicing admiration for China's achievements in recent years, especially in reforms and the fight against poverty, Pavlopoulos stressed that President Xi Yinging is a world leader who made China proud of its achievements.
”Based on the size and wealth of human capital, China has achieved high growth rates and has undertaken global initiatives that put it at the centre of current events”, Pavlopoulos added.
