Kurti warns Haradinaj Government: You will be given responsibility

Vetevendosje Movement leader Albin Kurti, who is expected to become Kosovo's prime minister after a potential coalition agreement with the LDK, has today brought charges towards the government in office headed by Ramush Haradinaj. As Kurti wrote, this government is using the institutional vacuum to make decisions [...]
As Kurti has written, this government is using the institutional vacuum to make decisions that undermine Kosovo's budget, accommodate militants, co-party and family, and place in key positions of competent people for whom Kurti says they have blocking potential.
However, Albin Kurti says after the country's prime minister is elected all decisions being made by the incumbent government, which are overstepping the competencies of a caretaker government, will be cancelled and decision-makers will be brought to account.
Albin Kurti's full reaction:
The 6 October period is being marked by the extreme misuse of the institutional vacuum on the part of the outgoing government. Misuses have been manifested in almost all possible ways that generally have three things in common: comfortable party militants and family members in responsible tasks; the difficulty of the new government's work by placing non-competent and potentially blocking persons; and, as well, undermining the state budget.
The decision to carry the staff of ministries assigned to private items with huge amounts of monthly buy; illegal appointments in diplomatic services; attempts to push ahead with a highly corrupt and suspicious process of appointment of swimmers; promotions to ministries, public companies and government agencies are some of the government's harmful and illegal decisions in flight. Just as government ignorance and corruption want to leave.
It's very important that we point to the time that follows:
- The government's illegal decisions in the transitional period, which go beyond the competencies of a outgoing or caregiver government, will be annulled and decision-makers called into responsibility.
- The new government is a government of change. The first step towards change will be the substantial reduction of the number of independent ministries and agencies. In this context, there will be a need for complete reshuffle of the organisational structure of ministries, so any decision to employ, re-system or promotion at this moment is inappropriate and, as such, will be impossible. Especially now that we are awaiting the new law issue for public officials.
- The new government is priorities on reducing government spending. We will begin with the target that no public institution is placed in private objects. This means that we cannot allow staff relocations in buildings just to meet the luxury appetites of individuals assigned to political nomenclatures, nor the need for illegal benefits from owners of certain private objects.
- The outgoing government must be restrained when it comes to sensitive appointments like those in Noter, Judge, Diplomacy, Public Security or AKI. These decisions are entirely due to the new government, after it has completed scanning the existing situation and identifying obstacles to the successful operation of each.
At the same time, I want to assure all citizens that I am working with the greatest will and energy for the institutional vacuum to be completed as soon as possible so that as soon as we start demonstrating the hope we have in citizens with the 6 October victory. I will also ask the governing partners to finalise all steps towards signing the agreement for co-governance.
