The blast occurred on one of the main streets of Tel Abyad City.
Tel Abyad is one of two border towns where there has been fierce fighting since Ankara launched the offensive on October 9th, which targeted Kurdish forces located in northeast Syria.
Ankara says Kurds in Syria, belonging to the (YPG) People Protection Units, are linked to Kurdish militants in Turkey of the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK), which it considers a terrorist organisation.
The Syrian Monitor for Human Rights, the London-based organisation, said four civilians from the same family are among the victims from the blast, for which a local Council blamed the YPG and the PKK, Reuters reports.
Turkey's Defence Ministry also blamed the YPG for the explosion, where it said three people were killed and 20 others injured, meanwhile, a Syrian Democratic Forces spokesman (SDF) led by Kurds, blamed Turkey-backed “merceners for the explosion.
Similar blasts have occurred in areas populated with civilians in border towns with Turkey, which are already under the control of Ankara-backed forces.
