Israel has killed one of the oldest commanders of a militant group in the Gaza Strip in an air strike.
Baha Abu Al-Ata, a leader of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ), was killed along with his wife when a rocket hit their home.
Israel said Abu al-They were charged with repeated missile attacks and sniper attacks last year. According to this statement, he was also preparing other attacks and was named as “set up”, conveys the periscope.
“Abu al-They were promoting preparations to conduct immediate terrorist attacks in various ways against civilians and Israeli forces in the coming days. His murder is direct action for removing an immediate threat” said in the Israeli Army's statement.
Several Palestinian militant groups operate in the Gaza Strip. Hamas, who has power in this Palestinian enclave, has fought three wars with Israel, but in recent months he has reached a ceasefire agreement.
