This date commemorates November 17, 1939, the date when Nazi forces intervened at Prague University after student demonstrations against the invasion of Czechoslovakia and executed the nine leaders of student demonstrations without trial.
They also sent over 1,200 students to concentration camps, closed all universities, and converted them into military barracks. Because of this unprecedented event, November 17th has been announced International Student Day.
So was the same fate as those of Prague University students experienced by Pristina University students during the then Milosevic regime, when Albanian students were expelled from the university and only Serb students were left inside.
The role of Kosovo students for the liberation of Kosovo by the Serbian occupier was certainly great.
Remembering the student protests in 1968 where among the slogans used by students at the Pedagogical High School was also the <x)>
On March 11 and 26, 1961, student demonstrations at the University of Pristina broke out.
Also on October 1, 1997, a turning point in Kosovo's history when students, professors, and citizens filled the streets of Pristina.
