NATO will never put pressure on Serbia to join it, Assistant Secretary General said NATO for Public Diplom Ildem Diplom at the “conference We walk on walls”, organised by the Centre for Euro-Atlantic Studies in Belgrade.
Ildem stressed that the Alliance supports negotiations between Belgrade and Pristina and represents a regional presence through the KFOR mission in Kosovo.
“We want a stable, secure and prosperous Western Balkans,” said Ildem.
According to him, NATO supports its ambitions for closer integration with the EU.
“We understand the decision to become a partner in NATO, but not to seek membership,” said Ildem.
