Germany seems to be the only EU state to support visa removal for Kosovo.
This end is not expected to bring visa liberalisation to Kosovars either, since only Germany is none of the other EU states protruding visas for Kosovo.
According to integration connoisseurs, the likelihood is that visas will be removed even in 2020, but a hope remains the German state, which will take over the leadership of the EU Presidency from July 1st next year, writes the newspaper “Zri”.
The odds are minimal that Kosovars come visa liberalisation as a gift for the weekend holidays, as promised by outgoing Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj.
Although along the government's mandate “Haradinaj” had dozens of promises that visa liberalisation will happen this year, such a thing according to connoisseurs of integration issues is impossible.
That, according to them, Kosovo institutions have not yet carried out their homework, with particular emphasis on fighting organised crime and corruption.
In addition, according to analysts, the main obstacle to visa failure remains the scepticism of EU member states, such as France, the Netherlands and Belgium, which are not giving the green light to this process.
