New EULEX chief appointed in Kosovo

The new head of the European Union's Mission for Rule of Law in Kosovo (EULEX) has been appointed, he will be Lars-Gunnar Wigemark. According to this mission's announcement, his mandate will last from December 1st to June 14, 2020.
“Z. Wigemark, a citizen of Sweden, was formerly chief of the EU Delegation in Bosnia and Herzegovina and Special Representative of the EU in Bosnia and Herzegovina. As the new mission chief EULEX Kosova, he will lead this mission's support for relevant rule-of-law institutions in Kosovo in its journey towards increased effectiveness, sustainability, multiethnicity and accountability, free from political interference and in full compliance with EU best practices”, it is said at the end of the announcement.
Mission EULEX has started working in Kosovo in 2008 under the European Union's Common Policy for Security and Protection.
EULEX is supported by all 28 European Union member states and five contributing states (Canada, Norway, Switzerland, Turkey and the United States)
