Deliu-Codra: VVI LDK want to downplay AKI role

On Thursday the working group of the LDK and the VV held the fourth consecutive meeting, where the main theme was the one on security issues and rule of law, during this meeting these two parties agreed on the possibilities of creating a State Investigative Office, which has raised the voice from [...]
Establishing a special office according to former delegation Blerta Deliu from the PDK is unacceptable.
She said in a proposal for Periscope that Kosovo has relevant institutions that deal directly with fighting crime and corruption.
Deliu stressed that establishing such an office and minimising AKI and relevant institutions dealing with justice is incorrect.
Kosovo has its own institutions dealing directly with fighting crime and corruption, not just media needs, but it is good to deal with these phenomena carefully. You have seen these were the party's leading causes during the election camp. The only way to strengthen our country is to fight such a thing, but now with minimize institutions such as AKI and other institutions that deal with this area is incorrect”, Deliu told Periscope
Otherwise, former MP Arben Gashi has clarified what the State Investigative Office will contain, but according to him still needs and clarifications to see if it violates the constitutional system.
The State Investigation Office will have several components, in our view. The first component will be the fight against organised crime, the second component will be investigating old crimes and political crimes. The next component will be fighting corruption. And the last component dealing with this office will be the component of rule of law in terms of alleged anticorruption and officials. As for these areas, which are Kosovo's external security, rule of law, we have agreement with potential governing partners -- that is, Vetevendosje Movement” -- he explained at the media conference. /Periscope
