Jerry Chun Shing Lee, 55, worked at the CIA 13 years in several countries and had classified data and the names of secret CIA officials in China.
In May of this year, he was found guilty of spying efforts on behalf of the Chinese government. However, his lawyers had said that their client is not a Chinese spy.
However, an American court had discovered that the suspected person had communicated with two Chinese intelligence officials who had sent him envelopes with requests for secret information in exchange for money. Chinese officials had asked him for 21 types of information from this person.
In May 2010, following Chinese intelligence officials' request, Lee had drafted a document showing countries where CIA officials would go and informed them of a significant operation.
For this service, he was promised 100 thousand dollars and life insurance, says court documents.
Thus, from May 2010 to December 2013, he had deposited thousands of dollars in his bank account, writes “CNN”, broadcast Express Journal.
