In this case, Karin Hernmark Ahliny's ambassador to Kosovo said that violence against women is still taking place in many parts of the world, which is the only crimes that have shame and victimisation, which must change.
Ambassador Hernmarck Ahliny said that we need humanity and respect for each other.
And we need to talk about the behavior of the people who commit these crimes, so these orange fabrics help us to raise this issue, put it on the table, and make all of those values of humanity and respect that we need to send each other as human beings, not one person to whom any violence can be exercised, because there are social costs against you, Hernmark Ahliny said.
While the United Nations Development Co-ordinators for Kosovo Ulirika Ricardo said six months have been spent discussing and debating this crime, which is continuing to affect societies and countries worldwide.
Ricardo said that one in three women has been subjected to sexual violence - a phenomenon for which to change the systematic approach.
We heard that one out of three women has been subjected to sexual violence, but when we think about it, if we have a mother and two girls in the family, one actually according to statistics is affected and one of us here is affected. This means that when we're talking about isolated cases, we're talking about something that's relatively systematic and it's engraved in our society, and we have to equally have a systematic social approach around this”, Ricardo stressed.
Former Kosovo President Atifete Jahjaga and Great Britain Ambassador Nicholas Abbott attended the event
Even the Miftari Cave, by UN Women, stressed that on the international day for eliminating violence against women should be remembered that six women and one child were killed in the last year alone. So he added that they have gathered here to make a commitment to combat these negative phenomena.
