His name is Daut Hoxha, from Kosovo's Ferizaj, and is blind.
But this has not prevented him from working as a carpenter for 18 years.
It may seem unusual, but David is an ideal example that with will and passion, nothing can stop us from doing what we want.
We've been doing this as a family since the 1970s, but I and my brothers have started after the war and we've been here for about 18 years. It's routine, and I usually work when I don't have commitment, that with all the passive, it's really bad, it's bad habits. I'm active and I'm working, it's not a hard job. I work willingly, with pleasure. ”
David works doors, furniture different from wood, while for friends, chessboards.
He is very easily instructed in his workshop, and he considers the risk of cutting or heavy tools to be part of his work.
He explains:
“As far as danger is concerned, you know, for example, to which extent the saw is. The distance of the sawer was calculated by hand, and I don't mind it because it escapes danger. The distance of the sawer knows it's gotta be somewhere in the 15cm, and he's holding it by hand. ”
And Daut Hoxha is chairman of the Association of the Blind in Ferizaj, a student of justice and his other passion are pigeons, whom Daut says birds have a sense of association with people.
He adds that the blind are highly developed with their other senses, and it may be that among 100 pigeons if you take it, you know who it is, because it worries them deeply.
