According to the Constitutional Court, the results first take place, then party complaints are taken into account, and eventually the certificate of results comes.
With the announcement of final results, the election process is not complete, as political subjects and candidates can present their complaints about these results. The complaints may initially be filed at PZAP, and if this institution rejects any complaints, the disgruntled side may complain to the Supreme Court. We also have to wait for their decision-making, to act in line with these decisions, if they impose the CEC, so that we can then proceed for the certificate of final results. In the end, after the CEC makes decisions on the Certificate of results, it announces the president of the Republic of Kosovo concerning the outcome of these elections, the Constitution says.
After all the votes were counted, even those of the Diaspora that were finalised last night, the Vetevendosje Movement ranks as the first winning party of these elections, the second LDK and the PDK in a row.
CEC spokesman Valmir Elezi has said today that the Central Election Commission will act in accordance with the law on general elections concerning announcing final results.
The legislation on general elections allows the possibility to file a complaint within 24 hours in PZAP concerning counting management at the Counting Centre and Results. Therefore, knowing that on Tuesday around midnight the ballot counting process has been completed under the Supreme Court's ruling, the CEC is obliged to observe this legal deadline. As we have informed you, the CEC will communicate with relevant institutions to receive confirmation that there are no issues in the investigation and then can declare the final results of these elections. If there are no complaints within this deadline, the Central Election Commission will announce final results during Thursday's”, he has said.
Days earlier, the CEC had not prosecuted for voting in the CNR these ballot packages, while the Vetevendosje Movement had initially complained to the PZAP, which had deemed the complaint unsubstantiated.
For this reason, this party has submitted the next complaint to the Supreme Court yesterday, which made a decision to count 1806 packages with transplants. /PERISCOP/
