Among the 126 countries of the world, Albania ranks 105th on the generous index, published by the CAF Foundation, among the world's most prestigious on charity-related issues.
This is the tenth year of this publication. A year ago, Albania performed best, as it collected more points. In the region, Albania leaves Serbia and Montenegro behind.
Macedonia and Bosnia and Herzegovina have significantly preceded Albania in this ranking. The Indicator is calculated on the basis of three other sub-indicators, any aid to a stranger, charity in monetary value, and time dedicated to volunteerism. In the latter, Albania is among the last countries in the world, 107th, but in significant improvement compared to a year ago.
When it comes to donating money, Albania is somewhat better performing, ranking 75th in the world, from 62nd place a year ago, which means Albanians have become more narrow in the bow of a year. As for helping a stranger, our country is 95th in the world. In general terms, prestigious research proves that Albanians recognise mainly monetary assistance as generous, while not inclined to volunteer or any other aid that does not translate into money.
Globally, as the most generous country, the United States is ranked, followed by Myanmar and New Zealand, while the three most stingy countries result: Yemen, Greece and China/Day
