Albania's Foreign Minister Gent Cakaj has just voted.
Cakaj, except as a citizen of Kosovo, also holds Albania's passport, which allows him to vote in both states.
He said that although he holds the minister's post in Albania, he shares concern for Kosovo's future, he said he has not simply voted as an ordinary citizen, but as an Albanian who believes the deepening integration of the two countries has no alternative.
I am a citizen of both the Republic of Kosovo, but also of Albania and the concern for the country's future and at the same time responsibility to participate in the political flows of the two countries. The vote here is a mirror of a far more general fact than dual citizenship because it is part of my personal conviction that the fate of the two countries is inseparable because of history, whatever because of future interests.. And I here today do not merely vote as a citizen of the country one but as an Albanian who believes that the deepening integration of the two countries has no alternative”, Cakaj said.
He said he has carefully conveyed each political party's election campaign, and that time has served him to reflect on election day.
My vote comes after a process of careful reflection for relevant representatives in my appreciation of the people in the future parliamentary structures, Caka concludes./Periscopi/
