Turkish authorities often use the word “neutralised”, meaning terrorists in question surrendered, captured or killed.
On 9 October, Turkey launched operation “Peace Source” east of the Euphrates River in northern Syria to secure its borders by eliminating terrorist elements and ensuring the safe return of Syrian refugees to their homes and territorial integrity of Syria.
Turkey with this operation aims to clear region east of the Euphrates River by PKK terrorists and its Syrian P branch YD/ YPG.
In its more than 30-year terrorist campaign against Turkey, The PKK, listed as a terrorist organisation by Turkey, the US and the European Union (BE), is responsible for the deaths of about 40,000 people, including many women and children.
