Syrian state radio also confirmed that the Turkish Air Force launched an air strike at a checkpoint on the Syria-Iraq border, which destroyed two bridges. This checkpoint is controlled by the Kurdish Arab details of the Syrian Democratic Forces.
The statement said there is no information on victims of the attack so far.
Photos of Turkish land forces focusing close to the Syrian border have also been posted on social media, with the White House claiming Turkey has not launched a announced attack on Syria.
“at present, we don't see this operation”, said a senior American administration official.
Earlier, the Syrian Democratic Forces reported that American forces had withdrawn from the border with Turkey in northern Syria, in violation of agreements reached with Kurdish allies.
President Recep Tayip Erdogan also said the US Army is leaving territories in northern Syria, where Turkey plans to conduct a military operation against Kurdish forces.
