Trump referred to a Pence and State Secretary Mike Pompeii's press conference following extensive talks with senior Turkish officials, including President Recep Tayip Erdoğan.
“We have good news from Turkey. Soon, Pence and State Secretary Mike Pompeo will hold a press conference. I thank President Erdoğan. Millions of lives will be saved”, Trump wrote on Twitter.
By contrast, Erdoğan and Pence held face-to-face meetings in Ankara today, and among delegations related to Syria that totaled over four hours.
US media last night published a letter Trump had written on 9 October to Erdogan, asking him to stop attacks on Kurds, otherwise would destroy Turkey's economy.
And Trump had finally told Erdogan to obey the “not to become a fool”.
