Tahiri: Justice ministry has rejected dehari case expertise

Acting Justice Minister Abelard Tahiri, through a statement to the media, reports that so far they have not received any expertise from Switzerland in connection with the case “Dehari”. Tahiri's statement comes after lawyer Tome Gashi's statement that the justice ministry has accepted Astrit Dehar's final report of expertise from the Swiss Institute.

The statements of attorney Tome Gashi, displayed in public regarding the acceptance of the final expertise report on the Astrit Dehar case, by the Ministry of Justice, are false, biased and absolutely non-professional claims, Tahiri said.

According to Tahiri, no document with any content related to the Dehari case has reached the Justice Ministry address.

The lawyer Gashi has had to know that this case belongs to law enforcement bodies rather than to the Ministry of Justice. My role as justice minister with him has been the necessary treatment, according to the Dehari family's request, to enable a super-expertise abroad at one of Europe's best-known legal medicine centres, said the statement.

Tahiri has said that in time, financial means have also been provided for expertise and independent law enforcement bodies have been brought in contact with the Swiss-based Lausanne Institute, which was the preference of the Dehari family.

“And that the lawyer Gashi's claims are groundless, non-professive and biased behind which lack of procedural knowledge is concealed and therefore do not inform public opinion in a manner towards”, the statement said.
