Although it has been almost two months since the new school year began, many school institutions are facing a lack of textbooks.
Municipal education directors and school principals have confirmed that there are still books shortages in some schools. As a result of these shortages, students are photocopying books from classmates.
Free text delivery for classrooms 1 through 9 is regulated with administrative instruction “student equipment with textbooks, use and conservation of them” released in 2016 by the Ministry of Education. August officials have not answered the newspaper's questions about these delays, Koha Ditore writes today.
School principal “Imail Qemail” in Pristina, Kimetet Konjusha-Dida, has stated that English-language texts are lacking in this school. She has stressed that they have filed complaints in August and that they are awaiting book insurance.
And the principal of the school “Gjergj Fista”, in Pristina, Supije Giti, has said that books were sent to this school but not to all students. Some of the missing texts are civic education, English, Albanian, geographery, paper, and so on. In her view, parents have also expressed concern.
