Spain issues long prison sentences for Catalonia separatists

Nine Catalan separatist leaders have received severe sentences from the Spanish Court even though they were acquitted of violent rebellion. Former Catalan Foreign Minister Raul Romeva was also sentenced to the same charges of 12 years of freedom, writes The Guardian, translates Periscope.
The same was done by government spokesman Jordi Turul and former Labour Minister Dolors Bassa.
Carme Dordwell, former Catalan Parliament spokeswoman, received 11 years in prison and so forth.
Oriol Yunqueras responded to his sentence with a tweeting post calling on the Catalan people not to surrender to the bid for independence.
