It is the fifth consecutive time this East African country is ranked first in the ranking, taking into account the unfinished killings of journalists, but also the population.
This study includes a 10-year period, from 2009 to 2019 and does not only include journalists' deaths during an armed conflict or covering potentially dangerous events.
In this decade, Somalia numbers 25 unfinished journalists' killings. That figure is lower than that of Mexico with 30 murders or Philippiness by 41 murders, but more when compared, the number of countries in question. /
