Russian soldier kills eight of his colleagues

A Russian soldier has killed eight soldiers and injured eight others at a base in Siberia, officials say.

The event took place in the Transbaikal region on Friday, according to the Interfax news agency, which quoted the Russian defence ministry, the periscope conveyed.

The attacker, a recruit, has reportedly been arrested, while according to the Russian defence ministry, he had suffered from a mental breakdown.
