Hong Kong police fired tear gas Sunday to disperse protesters who attacked gasoline bombs. Thousands of protesters took part in a banned rally in the Kowloon district.
Police officers within the police station threw tear gas and asked protesters to disperse. On the other hand, protesters threw gasoline bombs at the station's gate, and several were thrown into the surrounded space.
Later, the police used a truck with colored water to disperse protesters. Police use color water to identify protesters more easily and to arrest them later.
In other parts of the city, protesters damaged shops and train stations, setting them on fire.
Hong Kong has been troubled by mass and violent protests that started several months ago because of the increasing Chinese power in the region.
Protests had started because of a draft law on the extradition of citizens to China and later became one of the most serious political crises in Hong Kong's history, writes “Reuters”.
