The military and police have used tear gas and water cannons to protesters, until police hours have been deployed in large cities.
The state of emergency already declared in Santiago will be extended to cities north and south of the country, broadcasting the Kosovo Clan.
The riots, driven by the already suspended rise in subway tariffs, have deteriorated by reflecting anger on the cost of living and inequality.
