Trump said earlier today that Al Baghdad was killed in a military operation conducted last night by American forces in the Syrian province of Idlib.
According to Trump, Al Baghdad killed himself and his three children by blowing up an explosive vest in the tunnel.
He said many of Al Baghdad's associates were also killed, and that there were no casualties among American soldiers.
Trump thanked Russia, Iraq, Syria and Turkey for their help, saying Russia had opened airspace over Syria for American aircraft.
Meanwhile, Russia's Defence Ministry has said it doubts that this American military operation has ever occurred, as there is no reliable evidence that Al Baghdad has died.
Moreover, the ministry denied that it had opened Syria's airspace to the US Air Force.
