Social Democrat Initiative Chairman Fatmir Limaj has been addressed with a letter to CEC Chairman Valdete Daka and other members of this commission.
Sources of Kosovopress, within the CEC, suggest Limaj sent this letter last night, where he called for recounting of votes at the country level.
This letter writes, among other things, that irregularities and flagrant wrongdoing have been recorded in the use of bear forms that election results in all Kosovo municipalities.
“Because of the negative effect and the violation of Article 101 and 102 of the General Elections Law, we consider that the decision to partially recount the CEC is insufficient to improve the distortion of the outcome without the accuracy and damage that has been done to rival political subjects, thus directly damaging the will of voters in all municipalities”, it is said among other things in Limat's letter, which has provided “Kosovas<3>.
Further in Limaj's letter, it is said that since the CEC has already made the decision has proved the mistake in carrying out the CEC results, it cannot allow such a mistake to be valid for other ballot boxes.
“Referring to this above decision of the CEC which clearly confirms errors in the distributed form, the CEC's decision to recount a little over 300 boxes creates lawlessness and legal violations for allowing the rest of the count. Therefore, we consider that the CEC has already admitted mistakes on the form of carrying results and, as a direct consequence, all results in all polling should be recounted, to meet the requirements of the law Article 101 and 102 of the Law for Elections, transparency and accuracy of the vote's numbering” respectively, it is said in this letter.
Limaj says confident that the CEC will not allow legal violations in the process of counting and carrying results from interference in forms by unauthorised persons (commission commissioners) without authorisation of the competent body. (The word is that on many forms commissioners seeing the error in forms, have intervened in carrying out the results of political parties) and if the CEC recognizes these interventions as legitimate, then, he says that unless it accepts counterfeiting, it has violated the law and ruined the credibility of the entire election process.
It is clear that the CEC on the basis of these flawed forms can in no way produce the final outcome in accordance with the Law for General Elections of October 6, 2019. Therefore, we urgently demand that the CEC accept the error as a whole and not in part and create the conditions for recounting each box to draw the election result just as it is inside the boxes and eliminate all these scandalous errors, distort the outcome, and many defects that have been transmitted by this error”, it says.
As Coalition Bearer NISMA AKR DP, Limaj has asked the CEC to approve this coalition's request to make a decision to recount all ballot boxes of October 06th 2019 to restore transparency and accuracy of the count, but above all to preserve and not distort the will of voters expressed in the ballot boxes.
