Vjosa Osmani, who was the candidate of the Democratic League of Kosovo for the post of prime minister, has expressed optimism that the future ruling coalition with Vetevendosje will be formed after the certificate of election results.
She in an interview for Radio Free Europe has spoken about dialogue with Serbia and the final agreement, which she says should not be reached without the blessing of the United States and European allies.
“Now, the United States is the key country that has helped Kosovo succeed at different periods of its history, and each of us must understand that no good agreement for Kosovo will be achieved without the United States' blessing and, of course, the powerful states of the European Union, such as Germany”.
So, for me and LDK, it's extremely important that our attitudes be harmonised with these supporting states, these relationships or these friendships as we call them, but above all, they're bilateral relationships for us are existential as a state that still faces enormous problems in international relations”.
“Therefore, it will be an extremely important task to rebuild bridges, which have unfortunately been damaged during past governance, recreate a trust partnership with these states and harmonise attitudes with the United States and the European Union regarding the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue. It is essential for us to have allies in this process because we cannot succeed without allies”.
We can please each other here in Kosovo, but ultimately the agreement that will be reached in Brussels should have the blessing of our rescue friends. So even these contacts are extremely important to inform ourselves about what are more or less ideas the United States has about how the dialogue should continue and we, together with the Vetevendosje Movement, have long been discussing it, even though in terms of so general this issue is and I am convinced that we will reach a” agreement, she said.
