Krasniqi: We have expected better election results, voting management is not being done properly

Jakup Krasniqi, once chairman of the Parliament, says they have expected better results from the 6 October elections, but also stresses that voting management has not been done properly.

“The Sovereign has done his duty best, according to his information. I consider that the administration of citizens' vote has not been done well, yet efforts have been made by the Central Election Commission to do correction, we expect the official final results, so that we can see where we are as a political subject and ultimately have to view all political subjects as coming out of these” elections, he says.

He says that from the information he has, the Initiative is actually over 5%, but that they are waiting for the Certificate of final results to prove it.

I think that the Initiative is within the electoral result, which conveniates to be part of the Kosovo Assembly, and part of Kosovo institutions, yet we are aware that we should expect the final outcome... It's over 5%, so I have information, to look at the final result, I'm always saying is the final result is the one who will show where Initiative” is, Krasniqi said.

He also responded to how the Initiative will act if it passes the election threshold and becomes part of the Kosovo Assembly.

On this issue, the Initiative and its organs, MPs who will be part of the Assembly will talk and make the decision soon on the next day”, he says.

The Social Democrat Initiative is the party that has called for a country-level recount of the 6 October vote, with the reasoning that violations have been made during the election process, which has then impacted the outcome.

The Central Election Commission, with recommendations from the Centre for Counting and Results, has recalculated nearly half of the deployments, saying there have been various problems with forms.

The following days, the CEC is expected to make the Certificate of final results, following the counting of conditional votes and those of persons with special needs.
