This international day aims to promote equal treatment and opportunities for girls worldwide in such areas as law, nutrition, health care, education, treatment, etc.
According to the world facts specifically collected for this day, girls around the globe are three times worse fed than boys. Each year about two million girls between the ages of 5 and 15 are trafficked, sold, or forced to work in the sex trade, girls also continue to face numerous obstacles in both education and other basic services.
To honour this day, there will be numerous activities in Kosovo today aimed at promoting their rights.
