Gent Cakaj shows why Zaev resigned from Rama.

Albania's Foreign Minister, Gent Cakaj, has given the reasons why Northern Macedonia Prime Minister Zoran Zaev resigned following the failure to open EU membership negotiations, and such a thing has been explained by Edi Rama as prime minister of Albania despite the same failure. According to him, conditions [...] are an important point of discernment.
According to him, as the key milestone are the conditions that have been met, internal affairs and the referendum that was made in Macedonia in case of change of name.
There are some things that need to be clarified, the first is the fact that the two countries are equally developed on the European road, but that doesn't mean the two countries stay the same inside. Albania and Macedonia have deserved the opening of negotiations because they have met the conditions, but conditions were the same. Because Macedonia has had no obligation to carry out the property, but to address priorities from the 2015 agreement and end problems with Greece. Albania has followed other conditions. There's always a separation, because both of them have fulfilled their duties. By June 2018, when the process actually began but the decision was postponed, we learned that the process of opening negotiations depends on two pillars, the dynamics of internal reforms and the trend of reforms in Europe. We have lowered expectations by not making firm pledges that negotiations will open, and in Macedonia there was a referendum on changing the state name, and the question was whether citizens accept the name change in exchange for the European perspective. The EU failed to keep its promise with this case”, Cakay said in KTV's Rubik.
According to him, the other factor is that “Macedonia has no barriers that enable an internal electoral process”, while the third that “Macedonia in the amount of conditions, the government had greater responsibility than that in Albania”.
