The Brex agreement will take effect on November 1st, Kosovo Press broadcasts.
The European Council called on the European Commission and the European Parliament to allow the agreement to take effect on November 1st 2019<18x1>, said Tusk.
Following the adoption of the EU leaders' conclusions on the revised Brex deal, Donald Tusk said an agreement had been reached that would avoid “kaos and the atmosphere of conflict between the EU 27 and MB”.
Tusk stressed that the new version of the agreement was accepted because it was largely approved by Ireland, but also by the European Commission, which means it is “safe and profitable for EU citizens”.
The main “change is the acceptance of customs inspections during entry into Northern Ireland by Prime Minister Johnson. This will allow the avoidance of customs points between Ireland and Northern Ireland, and will also allow the integrity of the only market,” said Tusk.
He announced that the last “step” was now awaiting confirmation of the agreement in both parliaments.
The president of the European Council has told “British enemies” that if they decide to return, “dea to the EU will always be open”.
