EU dims hopes for Kosovars

Do not open EU doors for Albania and Northern Macedonia are expected to negatively affect Kosovo, which is in the initial phase of EU integration. Although the EU has a range of requirements for Kosovo, with particular emphasis on dialogue with Serbia, this institution has not yet made a positive decision [...]
After failing to reach consensus in the European Union to open negotiations with Albania and with Northern Macedonia, this is expected to lower the expectations of the new <x0-European”, Kosovars towards their Euro-Atlantic dream. The week we left behind European Union states told “Jo” the launch of membership negotiations with the two Western Balkan countries -- Albania and Northern Macedonia -- though the voices at the negotiating table dominated that these two states should be given positive answers.
And until the EU continues to have a high number of requirements towards Kosovo, where it prevails for reaching a final agreement with Serbia, the member states of this union are continuing not to be unified in terms of abolishing Kosovo's visas. Kosovars are still being kept isolated, although EU officials had promised them that the demarcation agreement with Montenegro would also be lifted.
Integration experts estimate that the EU's non-unification to open talks with Albania and with Northern Macedonia, as well as their failure to comply with visa removal for Kosovo entails the lack of member states' will to support further EU enlargement, whether in the sense of the membership process or visa removal. /Zeri
