EU ambassadors are expected to consider Britain's bid today to postpone EU departure after 31 October, which was also the deadline. After British Prime Minister Boris Johnson proposed early elections in December.
According to diplomats in Brussels, representatives of the 27 EU member states met on Wednesday, but did not set a postponement for Brex.
However, they agreed on the necessity of delaying Brex's deadline to help block London, the BBC writes.
The main issue for the EU is how long it should take to extend Brex's deadline.
France has suggested a short-term delay, while Germany is among the countries that favour the official three-month extension of the British government. /periscope/
